Farmington, NM – Five individuals have been arrested in connection to a drive-by shooting that occurred early Sunday morning. Farmington officers were dispatched around 2:55 to the 1100 block of Fairgrounds Road in reference to shots fired. The reporting party informed dispatch that a white hatchback passenger car was seen leaving the area. An officer saw the vehicle traveling west on Cooper Street from Fairgrounds. Officers followed the vehicle to a residence in the 3000 block of Carlton and conducted a felony stop. Two adults and three juveniles were in the vehicle; all five were taken into custody. Officers conducting the investigation located a bullet hole in the front door of a residence in the 1100 block of Fairgrounds Road. No one was injured in the incident.

Two male juveniles, ages 16 and 17 and one female age 16 all of Farmington, were charged with accessory to shooting at a dwelling. They were booked into the San Juan County Juvenile Detention Center.

Charlie Thompson, 18 of Farmington, was charged with accessory to shooting at a dwelling and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Fabian Harding, 18 of Farmington, was also charged with accessory to shooting at a dwelling and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Thompson and Harding were both booked into the San Juan County Detention Center.

Farmington, NM – Farmington police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in a shooting that took place on April 17. Police were dispatched around 11:04 that evening to a residence on South Bowen Avenue in reference to a shooting. Officers arrived and found a 38-year-old male, later identified as Frankie D. Taylor of Farmington, in the front yard with multiple gunshot wounds.  Medics transported Taylor to San Juan Regional Medical Center. He is now in stable condition.

Photos of a potential suspect vehicle were obtained from nearby surveillance. FPD is asking anyone with information about this incident to contact San Juan County Crime Stoppers at (505) 334-TIPS. No further information is available at this time.

Farmington, NM – Yesterday at approximately 11:04 p.m. Farmington police were dispatched to a residence in the 1000 block of South Bowen Avenue in reference to a shooting. Officers arrived and found a 38-year-old male in the front yard with multiple gunshot wounds. Medics transported the man to San Juan Regional Medical Center where he remains in critical condition. A suspect has not yet been identified. The incident remains under investigation.

Farmington, NM – At approximately 7:39 p.m. Farmington police were dispatched to Brookside Park in reference to a shooting. Witnesses were able to provide detailed descriptions of the vehicles, which led officers to the individuals involved. Through investigation, detectives learned that a 20-year-old male was at the park with his girlfriend and their one-year-old son. They were sitting in their vehicle in the parking lot east of the pool when a male individual came up and punched the driver in the face. At that time, a group of people surrounded their vehicle. The man stepped out of his vehicle holding a shotgun in an attempt to scare off the crowd of people. An Escalade, that had driven into the parking lot during the altercation, left and headed west on 17th Street. The passenger of the Escalade, later identified as 21-year-old Marqus Garcia of Farmington, fired one shot toward the male holding the shotgun with an SKS semi-automatic rifle. The male with the shotgun then fired two shots in the air. Officers located Garcia at a residence on West 24th Street. He was taken into custody without incident. Detectives later obtained a search warrant for the residence, where they located the suspect’s weapon. An arrest warrant was issued for Garcia on the charges of felon in possession of a firearm, shooting from a motor vehicle, tampering with evidence and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was booked in the San Juan County Detention Center and is being held on a $40,000 cash only bond.
