Farmington detectives investigate shooting

Farmington, N.M – The Farmington Police Department is investigating a shooting that left two men injured. 

Around 6:30 pm on Thursday, December 16, 2021, officers responded to several reports of shots heard in the area of the 2000 block of N. Tucker Ave. On scene, officers found a 29-year-old man with a single gunshot wound to his neck. Later identified as Edgar Contreras, the man was immediately transported to San Juan Regional Medical Center and later flown to Albuquerque for treatment. At a second location, officers located a vehicle that had left the area before they arrived. A 21-year-old man, later identified as Jaydoun Williams, was found inside the car with a gunshot wound to his upper leg. Williams was transported to SJRMC, where he was treated and released.
