Farmington, NM – Farmington police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a home in Farmington earlier this week. Police were dispatched to a residence on Delhi Avenue on Tuesday around 10:15 p.m. in reference to an armed subject who had just left the area. The reporting party informed dispatch that his tenant was attacked by two males armed with a shotgun.
Officers arrived on scene and learned the tenant, a 34-year-old male, had met a woman through an online dating site. The two had messaged each other throughout the day and made plans to meet at his home on Delhi Avenue. The woman arrived at his home around 9:45 p.m. A while later someone knocked on the door, and the woman answered it. Two men entered the residence and attacked the tenant, hitting him in the face with a shotgun. The woman ran out the door when the two men came in. She took a pair of jeans containing the tenant’s wallet and keys. The tenant’s landlord heard the commotion and headed over to check on his tenant but ran into one of the men who then pointed a shotgun at him. The two men and the woman fled the area in a white older model Chevrolet four-door sedan. The tenant was transported to San Juan Regional Medical Center for his injuries. The landlord did not sustain any injuries during the event.
