PRESS RELEASE: Five Farmington residents charged in connection to drive-by

Farmington, NM – Five individuals have been arrested in connection to a drive-by shooting that occurred early Sunday morning. Farmington officers were dispatched around 2:55 to the 1100 block of Fairgrounds Road in reference to shots fired. The reporting party informed dispatch that a white hatchback passenger car was seen leaving the area. An officer saw the vehicle traveling west on Cooper Street from Fairgrounds. Officers followed the vehicle to a residence in the 3000 block of Carlton and conducted a felony stop. Two adults and three juveniles were in the vehicle; all five were taken into custody. Officers conducting the investigation located a bullet hole in the front door of a residence in the 1100 block of Fairgrounds Road. No one was injured in the incident.

Two male juveniles, ages 16 and 17 and one female age 16 all of Farmington, were charged with accessory to shooting at a dwelling. They were booked into the San Juan County Juvenile Detention Center.

Charlie Thompson, 18 of Farmington, was charged with accessory to shooting at a dwelling and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Fabian Harding, 18 of Farmington, was also charged with accessory to shooting at a dwelling and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Thompson and Harding were both booked into the San Juan County Detention Center.
