Farmington, NM – The Farmington Police Department is working to keep our roadways safe and free from impaired drivers. This weekend FPD, in conjunction with other local law enforcement agencies, will conduct a sobriety checkpoint as part of the New Mexico Department of Transportation’s ENDDWI campaign. The campaign was created to help reduce the number of alcohol-related crashes and fatalities on our roadways.
Corporal Johnston with the FPD Traffic Division said, “These types of crashes can be completely avoidable if people would just choose not to drink and drive.” He further explained, “It’s important that we work together as a community to put an end to DWI; if you see a suspected drunk driver, call 911 and report them.”
