PRESS RELEASE: Farmington police respond to auto burglary involving juveniles

Farmington, NM – Farmington police recently responded to an auto burglary involving four juveniles. The incident occurred on Monday, June 6 in the 2000 block of Camina Placer. Officers were dispatched to the area at approximately 4:40 a.m. Police searched the neighborhood and made contact with one of the juveniles, a 14-year-old male. Officers learned there were three other male juveniles involved. Two of them are 14-years-old, the other is 15. Police then spoke with the owner of the truck that was reported to have been broken into. The owner reported his iPod was missing from the truck. The juvenile was taken to his home and released to his legal guardian.

Later that morning, officers located the other juveniles in the area of Hutton Avenue and East Main Street. They made contact with them and recovered the stolen iPod. All three juveniles were released to their legal guardians. The case has been forwarded to the Juvenile Probation Office for review.
