PRESS RELEASE: Two more suspects identified in recent bomb threats

Farmington, NM – Farmington police have identified two more suspects in the bomb threats that occurred over the past week. Detectives recently learned that an 8-year-old female student was responsible for the threats on December 14 and 16 at Apache Elementary. Due to her age, the student will receive in-school disciplinary action and will be placed in counseling services.

A Farmington High School student was found to be responsible for writing a bomb related message on a whiteboard in a classroom. The incident occurred on December 15. The message was in reference to a bomb but was not a threat. The 17-year-old male student has been charged with interference of the educational process, a petty misdemeanor.

Detectives are still investigating the other threats. There is a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information should contact San Juan County Crime Stoppers at (505) 334-TIPS.
