Farmington, NM – One juvenile is in custody following a bomb threat that occurred today at Hermosa Middle School. The written threat was found on a wall in the boys’ restroom and reported to police at approximately 10:37 a.m. The school was placed in a preventative lockdown until police completed a thorough search. The lockdown was lifted at approximately 11:13 a.m. Shortly following, several students reported a possible suspect to the school resource officer. An investigation was conducted and subsequently, a 13-year-old male student was arrested and charged with bomb scares, a fourth degree felony and interference with the educational process, a petty misdemeanor. The student is being held at the San Juan County Juvenile Detention Center.
