PRESS RELEASE: Farmington police respond to double stabbing

Farmington, NM – On Friday, March 13 at approximately 11:15 p.m. Farmington police responded to the 7 to 11 convenience store on West Main Street and Lake Street in reference to a stabbing. Officers arrived on scene and made contact with 23-year-old Kimberly Nez. Nez had multiple stab wounds to her person. Officers learned that the incident took place in the area of Airport Drive between Glade Lane and Arrington Street and that there was another individual who had been stabbed. Officers conducted a search and at approximately 11:30 p.m., located 27-year-old Chancelor Tso at the Nevada Trailer Court. Tso was non-responsive; officers began life-saving measures until medics arrived on scene. Tso was transported to San Juan Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Around the same time, officers located the suspect, later identified as 26-year-old Zack Tsosie. He was transported to the Farmington Police Department for further questioning. Tsosie was later arrested and charged with an open count of murder, one count of attempted murder and tampering with evidence. He is being held at the San Juan County Detention Center on a $500,000 cash only bond.
