PRESS RELEASE: Suspect arrested for 3rd DUI after hitting pedestrian

Farmington, NM – At approximately 3:35 p.m. on Friday, Farmington police were dispatched to the 1300 block of South Butler in reference to a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle. The suspect fled the scene and was located traveling west on Peach from South Butler. The driver, 35-year-old Gwendolyn Joe, was arrested and charged with DUI causing great bodily harm, leaving the scene of an accident and other related traffic offenses. This was Joe’s third DUI.

The pedestrian was transported to San Juan Regional Medical Center and treated for her injuries. She was discharged later that evening. Joe is being held at the San Juan County Detention Center on an $11,300 bond.
