Farmington, NM – At approximately 12:56 a.m. today, Farmington police were dispatched to Crossroads Community Church on North Butler in reference to an alarm. When police arrived, they learned that one of the church’s windows had been broken. Officers, along with a K9 unit, conducted a search of the building and surrounding area. While they were searching, a nearby resident flagged down one of the officers and informed him that an unknown subject had just fled from his backyard. The subject, later identified as 23-year-old Nathaniel Silversmith, was located in front of a home on Mossman Drive. Police questioned Silversmith and a detective was called out to help process the scene. Silversmith was arrested and charged with burglary, larceny, criminal damage to property and criminal trespass.
